Dr. Adamson is a Professor at The University of
Toronto. He has practised
cosmetic facial surgery for over 20 years and is internationally recognized for his
surgical techniques.
His special expertise is in rhinoplasty (nasal surgery) and soft tissue rejuvenation
surgery for aging. He is past President of the American Academy of Facial
Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Canadian Academy of Facial Plastic and
Reconstructive Surgery and American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive
Surgery. He is on staff at the Toronto General Hospital which is associated with

Dr. Brown is an Associate Professor at the University of
Toronto and performs
cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery procedures. His special interests are
breast augmentation and body sculpting. He is on staff at Womens College
Hospital, a teaching hospital of the University of Toronto. More information about

Both Dr. Adamson and Dr. Brown are very active not only in attending, but also
teaching, CME (continuing medical education) courses nationally and
internationally. They both maintain themselves at the leading edge of
developments in their fields.
The nursing staff of The Cumberland Clinic consists of fully trained Registered
Nurses (R.N.s) with extensive experience in providing the highest quality care for
each and every patient. Our nurses are leaders in their field. They are led by
Debra Kalman, R.N., Nurse Manager, who has over 20 years surgical experience
in a team environment, specializing in pre-operative, intraoperative and
post-operative care. The nursing staff have backgrounds in hospital care and
maintain their knowledge and skills at the forefront through continuing medical
education. All our nursing staff belongs to the College of Nurses of Ontario. Our
nurses create a safe, secure and comforting environment to enhance each
patients surgical experience and expedite recovery.
Our anaesthetic staff are all certified by the Royal College of Physicians and
Surgeons of Canada (i.e. are board certified) and are selected for their ability to
provide patients the safest and most comfortable anesthesia possible. Patients
have the opportunity to meet their anaesthesiologist pre-operatively and discuss
their anesthesia protocol. Our anaesthesiologists remain on-call for our patients
post-operatively to meet any needs.
Our staff accompanies each patient through their surgical experience, providing
verbal and written instructions and, most importantly, the physical and emotional
support needed to enhance recovery.
For patients who stay overnight for recovery, they are monitored in our fully
equipped Recovery Room by their own nurse one nurse for 1 or 2 patients. This
is but one component of The Overnight Package and The
Visitors
Package. Every patient is assessed by their surgeon and given
instructions
the next morning prior to discharge. For those who have same-day surgery,
medical and/or nursing staff contact them at home the evening of surgery to
ensure a safe and comfortable post-operative period and answer any questions.
One of our surgical staff is always on call for the clinic for any needs that may
arise.
The Cumberland Clinic is fully accredited by the Canadian Association for
Accreditation Ambulatory Surgical Facilities (www.CAAASF.org). As such, all
medical equipment is fully approved and regularly maintained by certified
specialists in biomedical engineering.
